Change Your Clothes
I bought my 8-year-old son a “Spider-Man” onesie and he was beyond excited because that’s his favorite superhero character. As soon as he put it on, he went into Spider-Man mode and you could not tell him he wasn’t THE Spider-Man himself. He became even more elated when my husband came home so he could show off his new favorite bedtime wear. So much so, that he stated with glee, “Daddy, wait! Don’t walk into my room yet! I have to show you the best thing ever!”
Often times, we do the same thing in life. We receive or grab a hold of things that change our character. Whatever you put purposely “put on” is exactly what you will be. If you put on “Queen” you’ll be just that. If you put on “Warrior,” you’ll feel like you can take on the world.
(Colossians 3:14) says, “And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” Another translation of it says to “clothe yourself with love.” In order to be clothed with anything, you have to put them on 1st.
On the contrary, side, if you put on other things that take you out of person God created you to be such as disappointment or discouragement, it will become of you as well. Those types of clothes won’t keep you warm because they are full of holes and might as well be rags with no riches.
With all that being said, daily ask yourself the question, “What/Who am I going to put on today?”
Whatever you decide to do, make sure it’s something that is going to keep yourself happy and know what NOT to wear. You are what you THINK.
